First of all, this is NOT the true Lynyrd Skynyrd, this is merely a tribute band!!! Only 3 of these guys even have the right to use the Skynyrd name. And a Christmas CD??? Are you joking??? Ronnie Van Zant must be rolling in his grave!!! The original Skynyrd charisma, attitude, and chemistry died in a swamp in October 1977…let it lie people!!! This is a disgrace!!!

With all due respect! Finally, the old Skynyrd”guard” was given a little break here, and the talent ofHughie Thomasson, (Outlaws)& Rickey Medlocke, are given some”space”. And they take advantage. Don’t pigeonhole this asstricly a Christmas CD!

I was deep in the woods “On The Hunt” for some shang’ when the good DJ of K-Rock comes over the radio an proclaimns this release. Well I ran ran like Rudolph to the nearest store and paid the sinful fullprice for this one.Save yourself the sweat and a little dough and order it here . I`m of the belief that the good old boys had this disc’s crafting on and off the shelf for some time as it contains a complete cross-genra package of “Down South Jukin” well conceived and compiled. Such a project is rarely even considered by rockers , a real shame as rock records never die, but these artists give a great testimonial to aid in seasonal celebrating.Koudos for including five originals and the family flavor thoughout.Merrily Mix~ 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,and 11~ no bahhumbugs here, not even close~ Post Script: This is Yultide Treasure, so despite having one short of modern-mrith-maker benchmark of 12 tracks, I give the hightest praise, and now that I`ve finished, I`d like the “Second Helping” please!*buyit*saveit*shareit*giveit*donateit to the library*

First, can we stop arguing about this being the “real” Skynyrd? Of course it isn’t, but it’s a stupid thing to get angry about in a CD review. So many talented people from this band have passed away yet they’re still a good rock n’ roll band and this is a good rock n’ roll Christmas CD. They do charged up versions of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and Run, Run, Rudolph”, there are ballads like “Christmas Time Again” and “Mama’s Song” and they have fun with songs like “Santa’s Messin’ With the Kid” and “Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin’”. They even go honky tonkin’ with “Skynyrd Family”. Throw .38 Special and Charlie Daniels into the mix and you have a Christmas CD that will have you dancing and singing along.
